The historic Wales Ranch “ Wales Ranch before Meyer puchase in 1990” Northwest of Helmville, lying four to nine miles by road from today’s Ranch headquarters, the 10-square-mile Wales Brothers Ranch was acquired in 1990 from the Wales’ family as a major initial purchase by Bob Meyer in founding the Ranch that now bears his name. This northern section, includ- ing several additions, is still informally referred to as the Wales Ranch. The present “Wales” spread totals 14.6 square miles plus 2.4 square miles of leased land. That 17-square-mile area is covered almost equally by forested hills to the west and grass / brush land in its eastern half.
